We are Operation Rainbow
Operation Rainbow Australia Limited (ORAL) brings together a volunteer group of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Nurses and support staff from Australia.
Operation Rainbow Australia Ltd was established in Perth in 1995, having been affiliated with Operation Rainbow USA prior to that point. The purpose of ORAL is to conduct surgical missions for the treatment of Cleft Lip and Palate in developing countries, predominantly in the Philippines.

Number of Patients: 85 Number of Procedures: 100Eighty five patients were offered surgery, receiving a total of 100 procedures over 6 days.
May 2016 – Cebu
Number of Patients: 102 Number of Procedures: 130 One hundred and seventeen patients were screened on the first day, of which 102 were offered surgery, receiving a total of 130 procedures over 6 days.

The Philippines has a population of around 101 million people, with approximately 2.5 million births each year. The country has an incidence of cleft lip, with or without cleft palate of approximately 1 in 500 births (compared with around 1 per 1000 live births in most Caucasian populations).
